Friday Finds #1

FRIDAY-fridayfinds

Hi guys!

Friday Finds is a weekly meme/feature over at Books and a Beat where you showcased book(s) that you had discovered during the past week. It does not necessarily mean the books that you had bought, but something that you ‘found’ and added to your long list of growing TBR.

Here’s my Friday Finds this week: The Key to Extraordinary by Natalie Lloyd. It’s a middle grade book but that did not stop me from wanting to read it. I remembered reading A Snicker of Magic by the same author last year and loved it, so I can’t wait to get my hands on this one because judging from the reviews, it looks good. 🙂

25152641Everyone in Emma’s family is special. Her ancestors include Revolutionary War spies, brilliant scientists, and famous musicians–every single one of which learned of their extraordinary destiny through a dream.

For Emma, her own dream can’t come soon enough. Right before her mother died, Emma promised that she’d do whatever it took to fulfill her destiny, and she doesn’t want to let her mother down.

But when Emma’s dream finally arrives, it points her toward an impossible task–finding a legendary treasure hidden in her town’s cemetery. If Emma fails, she’ll let down generations of extraordinary ancestors . . . including her own mother. But how can she find something that’s been missing for centuries and might be protected by a mysterious singing ghost?

With her signature blend of lyrical writing, quirky humor, and unforgettable characters, Natalie Lloyd’s The Key to Extraordinary cements her status as one of the most original voices writing for children today.

What new book(s) have you found this week? Let me know 🙂

  1. What a colourful cover, a real eye-catcher. I hope it’s a good book ! I received Death Unmasked to read and review, and the sequel in the Taking Flight series from Colleen Young. She was happy with my first review and asked to do the second one also, release 25/03.
